Configuring a Crew Schedule

Work Bundle and Date

The work bundle and date is the first section that we will configure on the crew scheduler. Here we can add the work bundle that needs to be added and the dates. The fields we can configure are:

  • Work bundle: This shows all the work bundles created in your organization, you will need to select only one.
  • Start Date: The day you expect to start working with this work bundle.
  • End Date: The last day you expect this work bundle to be available on the devices.
    • (Optional) No End Date: You can also add a work bundle with no End Date, this means that the work bundle will always be available. Click the check_box_outline_blank No end date option to enable this feature

Job and Pay Style

This section contains all the jobs available in the work bundle selected. These jobs will default to the pay style and rate they have configured in the "Jobs" page but you can also edit the pay style and rate in this section if needed. Changing the pay style and/or rate of a job will only affect the crew scheduler, the original configuration of the job will remain the same as on the jobs page. The fields we can configure are:

  • Pay Style: The pay type assigned to this job, the pay types available are:
    • Piece: Refers to piecework jobs
    • Hourly: Jobs that are straight hourly
    • Hourly + Piece: Jobs that will be paid by the hour + the pieces credited.
  • Rate/Minimum wage: Rate that an employee will earn per hour.

Location and Piece Rates

This section will allow us to add the locations that need to be available on the device that will be working with this work bundle. If you scheduled only hourly jobs in the previous section, the piece rate option will not be available. The locations added will default to the piece rate they have configured in the "Locations" page but you can also change it in this section if needed. Changing the piece rate while scheduling will only affect the crew scheduler, the original piece rate on the "Locations" page will remain the same. The fields we can configure are:

  • Location: This field will allow you to add the locations that need to be enabled for the crew
    • You also have the ability to add all the locations that belong to a site. To add a whole site select check_box_outline_blank next to the site name in the drop-down
    • Select arrow_drop_down next to the site name to display all the locations available on that site. To add locations select check_box_outline_blank next to the location name in the drop-down
    • Click clear next to the location name to remove a location from the schedule
  • Piece Rate: It's the rate per piece that an employee will earn. Click edit to add or edit a piece rate. This option will only be available if you have piecework pay type jobs
    • Range: The device user will be able to select a piece rate from a range. For example, if you add the values in the range from $ 1 to $ 5, the user will be able to type in any rate between $ 1 and $ 5
    • List: The device user will only be able to select a piece-rate from the list. You can add as many rates as you need to the list and they can not be modified by the user.

Click Save after you finish configuring the crew scheduler.
